Trip to Whipsnade Zoo

Herts Welcomes Refugees recently arranged a visit to Whipsnade Zoo for a large number of refugee families living in our area.


With perfect weather and a coach trip that passed through Ashridge, the day got off to a wonderful start. The families enjoyed exploring the grounds of the zoo, spotting different species of animals and picnicking with packed lunches.


The feedback on the day was very positive, and everyone was engaged by the follow-up learning session afterwards.


We hope that this experience will foster independence and integration. We’re looking forward to future trips out, including one to Waddesdon Manor. ​
